Beautiful old building, full of character and individuality. The staff were very friendly & obliging. My husband had asked for flowers & champagne in our room and these were sorted for him and were wonderful. Room was nicely appointed with quality linens & fabrics. Comfortable bed with feather pillows (a favourite of mine) synthetic filled pillows on bed too - so choice was there. Extra toiletries in spotlessly clean bathroom - which was beautifully fitted out. Breakfast was good, served very promptly after order being taken. Had a pleasant lunch too on arrival the day previously. All in all, the actual hotel & staff are faultless and represent really good value for money.
Loathe to leave a negative comment but have to be honest and say I didn't like the hotel's proximity to the A1. However, to be fair the hotel has glazed the windows to block the noise and as I live rurally I am very concious of the slightest traffic noise wherever we stay, as most places seem noisy compared to home :-) For business users/travellers I'd recommend this over any of the chains (that are usually situated on major roads) as it is far superior and has bags and bags of charm & character and excellent service to boot!
Bar nice & comfortable. Staff friendly. Takes pets and no extra charge!.
Last orders for Dinner 8.30 for 9.00pm is a little early considering guests are likely to be travelling long distances to get to the Hotel. Similarly breakfast on Saturday did not officially start till 8.30 am. That's late given once again guests are likely to need early start for their journey.
Great service. The staff called me in the evening as I was a late arrival to see if I wanted anything to eat before the kitchen closed. Very good freshly cooked breakfast. Free no-fuss WiFi. Although next to the A1 I didn't hear any traffic noise. Comfy well appointed room.
External signage a little confusing if you arrive after dark. The 'front' door is locked and access to the hotel was only through the rear door in the courtyard. As a budget concious and frequent traveller I would rate value only as 'fair' at £59.99 for B&B. 'Branded' local lodges are significantly less.
Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff - very obliging.
My husband booked this for my sister and I as we were visiting family. My sister got lost and one on the kitchen staff talked her through how to get from where she was. The staff were extremely helpful, cheerful and polite. Our room was at the back of the Inn and we were not disturbed by traffic. The Sibson Inn has a very relaxed atmosphere.
I arrived in the dark on a Friday night and the sign to come off the A1 was a very short distance from the exit, it would have been very easy to go past. On turning into the drive, signs to the car park were poorly lit. As a first time visitor it was a little frustrating.
Very clean and tidy and staff very freindly and helpful
Was over charged but they rectified the next day when this error was pointed out.
Great food great location for Stamford visiting
Friendly cheerful staff. Despite being close to the A1 bedroom was very quiet. Ideal overnight stop over.
Room was let down by not having seen a duster when it was last cleaned!
Pleasant room. Very friendly staff. Excellent food.
Threw me a little to pass the hotel on the north-bound carriageway when I was heading south! Required a short detour to complete u-turn.
Well looked after by the staff. Meeting room facilities as we needed. Appreciated the umprompted upgrade. Comfortable old coaching inn. Easy access for those in out group who had travelled some distance, being on the A1. Would stay again
Only one very small thing - please put shampoo and bath soaps next to bath as well as in shower. I had my own soap and shampoo, but if I hadnt I couldnt have used the bath.
very friendly staff, perfect location for our purpose, great character building
Extremely friendly staff, informal atmosphere. Good quality rooms, very clean and imaginatively decorated. Good value for money, very happy to stay there again
The spacious bedroom would easily accommodate two chairs thus avoiding one person having to sit on the bed all evening
The staff were very welcoming and the food was lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were clean. We would stay again and I took some brochures for weddings as this would be a nice location for my daughters wedding!
My only slight grumble was the radiators did not get very hot and the one in the bathroom in our room and my mothers room did not come on at all. However there were electric heaters in each room so we were not cold.
Good welcome, clean comfortable bed and bathroom
Room cold on arrival but warmed up after radiator put on.
